Attack on the Roses

Nasty little green aphids and some other little bug have been after my roses. I tried hosing them off which was only a temporary fix. Some weeks ago I started using Safer but that didn't seem to have much impact. I watched while the buds on one bush were decimated. Yesterday I bought Bayer Advanced Rose & Flower Insect Killer and applied it. Today very few aphids could be found. I thought we might have to dig up the Peace rose however today I cut off the one large cane that the destroyed buds were on. We'll see how it does from here out.
